Coming out of the Den

Like bears coming out of the den after a season of hibernating, we, too, have been making our way outside this past week. While Spring doesn't officially bless us with her presence until March 21, we have been fortunate enough to have some temps in the 50s & even 60s on a few days recently. After a long Chicago Winter, 50s & 60s truly are days to "write home about." It's all relative, right?

Not only has it been a long Winter, but the last month has been a tough one for our family. These "high" temps and sunnier days are much deserved, & we're embracing the chance. I've even been opening the windows in the middle of the day just to let the house breathe a bit. Fresh air & winds of change are good.

Hayden is OFFICIALLY walking now, & has been for about 2 weeks. She still has her "sea legs," but she is quite skilled at getting where she wants to go. And her confidence? This girl is uninhibited- it's no-holds-barred. Which makes me one vigilant mama, to say the least.

A few things she loves these days...taking stuff out of the cabinets & drawers.

Opening & closing doors is a new source of enjoyment, as well.

She also loves her Touch & Feel Flashcards. She is insanely good at identifying these when asked to do so. In fact, it's my go-to trick to impress the family when they come over.

Just last weekend, her top teeth finally began to break through. Along with it has been a runny nose & a nasty cough. This is what she looks like all the time now trying to feel her new tooth with her tongue.

And last, but certainly not least...we set up her tiny little swing & slide. She loves it...PhotobucketPhotobucket
